I am constantly searching for educational opportunities to engage my students with the world around them that they are unfamiliar with even though they interact within it daily. I teach in a small, rural district that is composed of students who would benefit greatly from​ educational experiences beyond what their current learning environment can provide. Also, as a science teacher I want to improve in my teaching skills, knowledge of curriculum, and leadership skills so in turn I can become a better teacher and colleague.
